Website for photographers
Tell it what kind of photographer you are — weddings, portraits, events, where you work — and createforme builds the website in a few minutes: a portfolio split into categories with photos that open full screen, your packages and what they include, and a form to ask whether a date is free. Then you edit it by clicking on the part you want to change, without writing code.
Marco Rossi Photography
A sample website for a wedding photographer in Milan, Italy. Here’s what’s inside:
- A portfolio filtered by category, with photos that open full screen
- Three packages with prices and what each one includes
- Clear delivery times: a preview in 48 hours, the full gallery in 14 working days
- A “check availability for your date” form
The example is written in Italian; its names, photos and reviews are made up. See it as it is (opens in a new tab).
What a photographer’s website needs
A few photos, the best ones
A portfolio of forty carefully chosen shots works harder than one of four hundred. People choosing a photographer decide in seconds, looking at the first images: splitting them by category (weddings, portraits, events) takes them straight to what they need.
Prices, or at least a starting point
“How much does it cost?” is the question that stops most couples. Even a “from” price with what’s included — hours of coverage, number of photos, album — brings enquiries from people who can afford you, instead of quotes that go nowhere.
The right question in the form
For a wedding the first thing you need is the date: a form that asks for it straight away, together with the venue and guest count, lets you reply in one message instead of five.
Who you are, with a face
Someone who will let you into the most important day of their life wants to see you. An “about” section with your photo and the way you work matters as much as the portfolio.
Fast, even with lots of photos
A photography site risks being slow precisely because of its photos. Upload your portfolio at a sensible size: the site places the images where they belong, but huge files slow down anyone looking from a phone.
Ready to use, nothing to install
What to know before you publish
Photos of recognisable people
Before you publish a client’s photos, get their written permission — a model release, ideally a clause in your contract. In the UK and EU a photo of a person is personal data under the GDPR; in the US, using someone’s likeness to promote your business can breach their right of publicity.
You own the photo, not the faces
Copyright in the shot is yours, but it doesn’t by itself give you the right to publish the people in it. For wedding guests, prefer group shots or photos where people can’t be recognised.
This is general information, not legal advice: for your situation, ask a professional or your regulator.
How it works, in three steps
- Describe your business in the box above, typing or out loud, the way you would to a customer.
- Watch the site take shape in a few minutes, and edit it by clicking on what you want to change: text, photos, colours.
- Publish when it’s ready, with a paid plan: you can create and preview your first site for free.
Questions
Can I upload my own photos instead of the sample ones?
Yes: you upload them while you talk to the site and it places them where they belong. If you haven’t picked them yet, the site starts with sample photos that you replace one by one.
Can I have a private gallery for clients?
Not yet: createforme builds public websites, without password-protected areas. Keep using your current tool for private client galleries and link to it from the site.
How much does it cost?
You can create and preview your first site for free. To publish it you need a plan: with Starter, €22.90 a month, the site lives at an address like yourname.createforme.io. Your own domain, like yourname.com, is included in the Agency plan.
Will the website bring me clients from Google?
It helps, but not on its own. The site is readable by search engines and there’s a switch where you write which words you want to be found for. For a photographer, your Google Business Profile and the reviews on it matter a lot too.
